Art Deco Glamorous Kitchen and Pantry

White & Gold Master Bathroom

Picture a gold trimmed shower enclosed within two walls and a lowered soffit overhead, visualize small print pink and green Victorian rose wallpaper, and a diamond shaped chipped tile tub surround. Now you know how this bathroom looked before the remodel. 

A dramatic makeover took place in this master bathroom!  Upgrades such as built in tub with crystal faucet handles, a gorgeous crystal chandelier in the center of the room, a custom designed and built-in vanity with a built-in bookcase, a white polished quartz tub surround, and for the show stopping shower, crystallized thassos white and gold reflective tile.

Living, Dining, Sitting rooms and Patio - Newington, NH

Great Bay in Newington, NH lends itself to a perfect, tranquil location for this newly constructed home. During the framing phase the homeowners contacted Wysteria Design to help with space planning, a furniture layout, color palette, furniture selection, and accessories for the living room, sitting room, kitchen, and patio. One of my favorite features of this design is the hand-forged concentric orb chandelier, it hangs center stage over the gorgeous 68" round mahogany table.  Custom upholstered swivel chairs and ottoman sit on top a cozy ivory shag rug, nestled near the bar and windows for a relaxing place to take in the view.  The patio beams and fireplace mantles were milled from cut trees cleared from the homeowners' lot.  The fish print is called Nantucket Gyotaku, and it is hand painted from real fish onto Japanese Rice Paper, canvas, or linen by Susan O'Donnell. The gorgeous kitchen was designed by Linda Cloutier Kitchens & Baths and styled by Wysteria Design.

Contemporary Country - Kitchen and breakfast nook

Believe it or not this started out as a dark cherry cabinet kitchen, with black granite countertops, and the island you see now but it was painted black!  The homeowners decided to call Wysteria when they couldn't decide where to relocate their refrigerator, if they should at all, and whether or not they should take out their existing custom bench seating area.   After assessing the functionality of the space and budget considerations, we all decided to keep the existing layout but splurge on items like Calacutta Venice quartz countertops with matching backsplash.  If you look close the gray veins on the countertop run right up the walls of the backsplash giving a light and airy feel to the room.  We are ecstatic that our clients were bold enough to go along with the idea of painting the bead board ceiling blue, along with a darker blue on the island.  We had custom upholstered bench cushions made in a gorgeous navy blue floral print and our interior stylist loaded the area with comfortable pillows that have energizing colors and patterns.  The result is a fresh take on a contemporary country kitchen.

Modern Primary Bathroom

Glamorous Den

With a moody and dramatic grey paint color this den is our take on the old “formal living room”.  The room now serves as a multi-purpose, fun and functional space for two children remote learning or two adults working from home. There is plenty of space for entertaining guests as well. 
Amusing surroundings and light hearted, quirky decor help make this den look so comfortable and “lounge-like” because we have displayed the things our client is truly passionate about.

Midcentury Modern Sunroom + Living Room

I wish you could see the before of this midcentury modern sunroom.  Picture lime green walls and the only furniture in the room was an old dining room table and chairs, a few scattered plants, and a bunch of cat scratching posts!  
The clients called Wysteria to create an uplifting area to relax and enjoy the beautiful Stratham, NH landscape in the back yard.  There was an abundance of natural light just pouring into the space so we felt that keeping the room very neutral and adding pops of bright colors and lots of textures was the way to go. We were interested in having the homeowners and their guests drawn to the outdoors and not overpowered by the furniture and accessories inside so we kept it minimal.
The result is a contemporary and casual space to kick your feet up, grab a good book and a cup of coffee, and enjoy the sunshine!

Rustic Chic - Bathroom

When your very own team member and interior stylist, asks you to help design and makeover her own little girls’ bathroom, you wind up with a really fun space like this!

Not afraid to use color, pattern or texture, this room was designed for a 14 and 10 year old in mind. The two girls wanted a bathroom that has bright colors, but no pink, and that had an island-like vacation feel to it! The girls even picked out the mirrors for this space which turned out to be perfect! ?

Traditional Eclectic - Sunroom

With a gigantic picture window looking out to the beautiful gardens, birdhouses, and cascading waterfall pool, this sunroom was designed for comfort, relaxation and greenery in mind.  

We get excited when clients ask for floral curtains because we have a secret love for traditional decor.  The pop of velvet on the armless chair, an 8-light glass chandelier, and an adorable upholstered tuffet brings just the right touch of whimsy and magic to this updated sunroom. 

North Andover Bathroom Project

This is what happens when you have really awesome clients who are open minded, have great taste and you combine them with really talented craftsmen and woman who can take your vision and run with it.  
When Shawn from Credible Construction and I first walked into this bathroom it was covered from the floor and up the walls in mosaic tile.  That doesn't sound too awful except the tile was from the 70's and it was mustard in color.  
The bathroom originally had 2 entrances to it and a wall from floor to ceiling to the left of the vanity.  For privacy reasons, since this is the master bathroom, we decided to take out one of the entrances and turn it into a much needed open shelving closet area where the homeowners can store their laundry, towels, and toiletries.  
Adding the closet meant we had to turn the toilet 90 degrees but it was worth it and we're happy we did.  After that it was time to take down the wall near the vanity and add a barn door to the bedroom to open up the space completely.  
The shower is tiled with an aged looking 3 x 6 subway and Shawn's crew built our  custom hardwood bench made of a tropical hardwood known as, Iroko.  
The mirror and shelving in the linen closet are also custom built along with the custom concrete counter top.  It has a tall 9" backsplash with single lever wall mounted faucets.  The countertop adds an amazing organic feel as it adorns a knotty alder black walnut vanity.  Be sure to check out the towel holder incorporated onto the side of the countertop!
We couldn't be happier with the results of this North Andover master bathroom project and we thank everyone involved.

Farmhouse Transitional Kitchen

A new kitchen layout and cabinets were designed for this beautiful Colonial style home.  The clients were looking for a "fixer upper" style kitchen with gray and white cabinets.  We decided to replace the existing peninsula with a turned leg island that has seating on two sides.  We also decided to move the fridge from the stove wall so we could feature a custom gray wooden hood vent over the gas stove.  Adding eye catching lantern pendants and upholstered counter stools to the island created a stunning focal point around the hub of the kitchen.  Wysteria Design not only designed this kitchen but also decorated it with a functional bar cabinet and  rustic accents such as a small herb garden, a large handmade wooden bowl of fresh green apples, and a charming cake stand with a delicious vanilla cake topped with cinnamon and a sprig of greenery from our favorite little cake shop in Dover, NH, Three Sisters Cake Shop.  

Kitchen and Living room Design - Dover, NH

This project was a living room, dining room, and kitchen in a newly constructed home in Dover, NH. 
The kitchen is fresh and clean with white cabinets, glass knobs, black soapstone counters, and milk glass pendant lighting. The custom maple island has turned legs, a large rounded overhang and is beautifully adorned with marble colored granite. The kitchen was a collaboration among myself and my mentor and friend, Michele Morrill of Homestead Kitchens.
The beautiful stone fireplace is anchored by a custom maple stained wood mantle, while the gimbal recessed light shines warmly on the coral picture frame. The floors throughout the entire space are bamboo.

Beach Style Farmhouse - Kitchen Dining & Family Room

Transitional Bathroom

A fresh, clean, updated bathroom, with a lot of storage was the request for these Dover homeowners.  These clients had a lot of great ideas and great taste so our job at Wysteria was quite easy.  We decided to swap out their interior bathroom door for a pocket door which allowed us space to fit a practical 21" wide linen cabinet.  We then installed a beautiful matching ash gray painted vanity custom built by Young Furniture in Bow, NH.  Wysteria suggested removing an alcove in front of the toilet area in order to open the space and give the feeling of a bigger area.  We also suggested using one light over each recessed vanity mirror and a matching semi flush light over the toilet.  Wysteria decorated the bathroom with delightful cherry blossoms and greenery and warm soothing tones to play off the porcelain tile wood looking floor and shower tile.  The result is a refreshing and airy feel.  

Bathroom Design - Tuftonboro, NH

This handsome bathroom was designed for a working man.  It is equipped with a walk-in steam shower, a large shower head and granite bench seating. The glass covering the window in the shower allows for bright natural light to pour in. 
Knotty alder, 2 panel doors compliment the vanity and matching medicine cabinets, while the Cambrian black granite countertop lends itself to a masculine feel.  
The bathroom floor is tiled with a polished basketweave Carrera marble and the wall tiles are 3x6 matte Carrera marble. A black mini brick detail carries around the entire room giving it a cohesive look.
The vintage looking faucet protrudes from the backsplash over the vanity and ties in nicely with the handmade dark brass candelabra sconce, hanging between the mirrors.

Contemporary Bathroom

A spa-like retreat was the goal of this master bathroom project!  We knew right away when we started the plans that the full wall between the shower and the toilet area had to be cut down to a half wall.  We did this in order to add some much needed natural light into the space which ultimately lightened and brightened the entire mood. 
We debated whether or not to take out the existing linen closet and add a tall pantry cabinet there instead.  In the end we decided to leave the functional pantry, add new wood doors to them and put our budget to work adding 2 recessed medicine cabinets instead.
This new space is now updated with beautiful patterned floor tile.  We decided to carry the shower tile behind the toilet as well so that the room appears very roomy and cohesive.

Bathroom Design

Initially this project started as just a bathroom remodel. Once we got into the space we realized we could expand the bathroom quite a bit by stealing space from the adjoining barn. This allowed us to double the size of the bathroom and change the entrance into the home to become more inviting and functional by adding a closet and bigger hallway.  
The bathroom consists of an ivory colored vanity and two linen closets. Stem wall sconces on either side of a graceful mirror provide a nice focal point over the sink. The bronze fixtures contrast beautifully with the granite and soft blue on the walls, giving a striking look to this warm lavatory.
