Cozy Contemporary Den

What was once a traditional living room was reimagined as a warm, inviting den designed for everyday comfort and relaxation. Working with our client’s vision, Wysteria Design transformed the space around a new modern fireplace and a more functional furniture layout.

A custom cold-rolled steel fireplace surround fabricated by DSO Creative Fabrication became the focal point of the room, complete with integrated hooks for the fireplace tools. Asymmetrical built-in bookcases by Driftwood Builders were designed around the fireplace and finished with a walnut mantel and coordinating trim. Open lower shelving provides convenient firewood storage while adding warmth and texture to the contemporary design.

To improve the room’s functionality, an existing corner doorway was closed, creating the wall space needed for a generous sectional and television. The result is a comfortable, layered space that feels entirely different from the original living room while remaining connected to the character of the home.
